Install Magic Key Pro Trader in MT5

Follow the setup steps, activate your license, and test the panel on demo before live trading.

Before you start

Three things to have ready

MetaTrader 5 installed From your broker. MT4 is not supported - Magic Key is MT5-only.
A broker that allows Expert Advisors Some prop firms / news brokers block EAs entirely. Confirm before installing.
Your license key Sent to the email you used at checkout. Demo keys arrive instantly; paid keys arrive once payment clears.

WebRequest URL

Add this URL in MT5 first

MT5 path: Tools -> Options -> Expert Advisors -> Allow WebRequest for listed URL. Paste exactly - a single typo blocks license activation.

Installation timeline

Twelve steps from download to demo test

Each step lists the expected result, the most common mistake, and the fix. Work top-to-bottom; the order matters.

Download the package after checkout

Go to My Account -> Downloads or use the order email. Download the Magic Key package from the official order area.

Expected result: You have the EA/package file saved on your computer or VPS.
Common mistake: The file is still inside a ZIP.
Fix: Extract the ZIP first, then use the actual Magic Key files inside.

Open MetaTrader 5

Open MT5 from your broker or VPS and log into a demo account first.

Expected result: MT5 opens and a chart is visible.
Common mistake: Using MT4 instead of MT5.
Fix: Use MetaTrader 5 only.

Open Data Folder

In MT5, click File -> Open Data Folder.

Expected result: The correct MT5 data folder opens.
Common mistake: Copying files into Program Files.
Fix: Always use File -> Open Data Folder inside MT5.

Open MQL5 -> Experts

Inside the data folder, open MQL5, then Experts.

Expected result: You are inside the Experts folder.
Common mistake: Putting the EA inside Indicators.
Fix: Expert Advisors go inside Experts.

Copy Magic Key files

Copy the Magic Key EA file into the Experts folder.

Expected result: The Magic Key file is inside Experts.
Common mistake: Copying the wrong nested folder.
Fix: Copy the actual EA file, not an extra folder level.

Restart or refresh MT5

Restart MT5 or right-click Expert Advisors in Navigator and click Refresh.

Expected result: Magic Key appears in the Navigator.
Common mistake: MT5 was not refreshed.
Fix: Restart MT5 and check Navigator again.

Enable Algo Trading

Click Algo Trading in the MT5 toolbar and enable it.

Expected result: MT5 allows EA actions.
Common mistake: Algo Trading is off.
Fix: Enable Algo Trading globally and in EA properties.

Add required WebRequest URL

Go to Tools -> Options -> Expert Advisors. Tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL and add the validation URL exactly.

Expected result: Magic Key can contact the license server.
Common mistake: WebRequest error appears.
Fix: Add the exact URL, save settings, then reattach the EA.

Attach Magic Key to a chart

Drag Magic Key from Navigator to the chart.

Expected result: The Magic Key panel appears.
Common mistake: EA permissions are not allowed.
Fix: Allow Algo Trading in the EA settings before loading it.

Paste license key

Copy your license key from your order/demo email and paste it into the panel or settings.

Expected result: The license check can run.
Common mistake: Extra spaces in the license key.
Fix: Copy and paste the key exactly.

Confirm license active

Check the panel and the MT5 Experts tab.

Expected result: A license active or connected message appears.
Common mistake: Wrong device, VPS, or missing WebRequest.
Fix: Check WebRequest first; for device changes, contact support for reset review.

Test on demo account

Use a demo account first. Test Buy/Sell, Close Half, Close Full, break-even, trailing, and other available controls carefully.

Expected result: You understand the workflow before live use.
Common mistake: Testing directly on a live account.
Fix: Always test on demo first.

Before live use

Setup warnings that prevent confusion

Troubleshooting

Common setup blockers and what to check first.

EA not showing

Confirm the file is inside MQL5 -> Experts, then restart or refresh Navigator.

Panel not appearing

Check Algo Trading and EA permissions when attaching Magic Key to a chart.

WebRequest error

Add the exact validation URL under Tools -> Options -> Expert Advisors.

License inactive

Check the key, email, plan status, device, and WebRequest setup.

Buttons not working

Confirm market is open, symbol is tradeable, broker allows EAs, and lot size is valid.

Invalid lot size

Check broker minimum lot, maximum lot, lot step, contract size, and symbol settings.

Broker rejects order

Review spread, stops level, margin, symbol trading mode, and market status.

VPS/device reset required

Email support with order number, license key, old setup, and new setup details.
